Brittania Naval College
June 9 @ 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM£23
Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC), is the naval academy of the United Kingdom and the initial officer training establishment of the British Royal Navy. Royal Naval officer training has taken place in Dartmouth since 1863 with the buildings of the current campus being completed in 1905. It is said to be the place where Queen Elizabeth II first met Prince Philip. Since 1998, BRNC has been the sole centre for Royal Naval officer training
We will leave The Triangle at 9.30am and drive straight to Dartmouth. You will have some free time to enjoy the town and make your own lunch arrangements before driving up to the College for a 1.30pm escorted tour. We are advised that ‘sensible’ shoes should be worn, as the floors can be slippery. Can members also please ensure they have some ID on them (e.g. passport, driving licence, concessionary bus pass). If anyone has a problem with providing one of these, please let us know when booking.
On leaving BRNC we will return home via a nearby garden centre (‘Garden Time’) for a tea/coffee/facilities break, aiming to be back in Sidmouth by 6.00pm.

- General policy
- If it does become necessary for you to cancel, please inform the organiser as soon as possible as there may be a waiting list and it may be possible to re-sell your ticket. If you cancel after you have received confirmation that your place is booked you may lose your money.
- Where the outing/event is fully booked
If your ticket can be re-sold you will receive a refund.
- Where the outing/event is not fully booked
In the case of coach travel, if the coach is not full, your coach fare will not be refunded. This is because we hire the coach at an agreed price and this cost has to be paid regardless of the number of passengers. Costs for admission to houses and gardens, guided tours, entertainment and catering will be refunded, provided that no loss is incurred by the Centre.
- Where refunds can be made under the arrangements outlined in (b) and (c) above, with the substantial increase in postal charges, it is regretted that a handling charge of £1 per transaction will in future be deducted from any refund.
